As a social worker with 10 years of experience, I have met with a lot of families and I can tell you that you are not alone. Life is full of hard moments but I believe that there is no problem that can’t be navigated. It might take a lot of effort and persistence but that’s why I am here to help.

I have a Bachelor of Social Work degree and I am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers in good standing. I have experience treating a range of childhood and youth issues as well as parenting struggles, family relationship difficulties and trauma. The primary modality I use is cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT); however, I infuse various techniques to tailor treatment to my client’s needs as appropriate, such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, play therapy and narrative therapy.

I believe in collaboration because although I have the expertise, your motivation and ability to do the work is what moves you forward. In session, you can expect me to be understanding and non-judgemental as we identify your needs and what is getting in the way of your functioning. I will treat you like an individual and at the same time see you in the context of your surrounding life, including family, culture, support systems, interests and spirituality. I will be patient while also challenging you to push yourself to achieve your goals, giving you strategies and tools to maintain a better life.

The best compliment I’ve received is that I always take into account every aspect of a person’s life. Clients have thanked me for never giving up on them and for leading them to the right path they couldn’t find on their own. For me, the most satisfying moment is when I can see a child, youth or parent finally taking control again, realizing their capacity to change, and walking into greater possibilities. I look forward to meeting with you and supporting you on your own journey.
