Managing big emotions
Join us for our upcoming workshop, “Back to School with Big Emotions: Helping Kids Transition Back to School with Confidence."
This valuable hour-long virtual workshop is focused on equipping parents with practical strategies to support their children during this pivotal time.
-
As the new school year approaches, many children experience a range of emotions, from excitement and curiosity to anxiety and anger. These "big emotions" can sometimes feel overwhelming for both children and parents. Understanding and managing these emotions is crucial, not only for a smoother transition back to school but also for fostering long-term academic success and emotional well-being.
-
Research indicates that children who effectively manage their emotions are better equipped to concentrate, participate in classroom activities, and build positive relationships with peers and teachers. According to a study by the American Psychological Association, emotional regulation skills are linked to higher academic performance, improved social interactions, and overall mental health. By helping children navigate their emotions, parents can play a key role in setting the stage for a successful school year.
-
In this workshop, we will explore...
Understanding Big Emotions: We'll delve into what causes intense feelings like anger and anxiety in children and how these emotions manifest during school transitions.
Practical Strategies for Parents: We'll share evidence-based techniques and tools that you can use at home to help your children manage their emotions effectively.
Building Emotional Resilience: We'll discuss ways to foster resilience and emotional intelligence in your children, skills that will benefit them both academically and socially.
Creating a Supportive Environment: We'll look at how you can create a home atmosphere that supports emotional regulation and prepares your child for the challenges of school life. -
Our goal for this workshop is to empower you with knowledge and practical steps to help your children navigate their emotions confidently, paving the way for a successful and fulfilling school year. Let's work together to support our children as they embark on this new academic journey with resilience and optimism!
